Water

I love water. I live near it, I wouldn't vacation anywhere that is not close to some sort of water. Have you ever been near a quiet water fall and just listened for a while? So essential to our survival, every living creature and plant, but we are taking advantage. In denial about the crisis that is now here. Greed has fueled this crisis. Let's try to do one small thing each day, to make the water crisis improve.

"...there is more waste water generated and dispersed today than at any other time in the history of our planet: more than one out of six people lack access to safe drinking water, namely 1.1 billion people" World Water Council

Georgian Bay Sun

The inspiration for Georgian Bay Sun was the crossing to Flower Pot Island. For any of you who have not travelled to Tobermory, seen Flower Pot Island or even taken the Chi Chi Man to Manitoulan, it is well worth the trip. Again that image of water continues to fascinate.

New Work - the Mystery in the Movement of Water

A great deal of my new work concentrates on images of water and falling water. Below are 4 images of new pieces, most recent appearing first, titled Pink Rock Falls. This painting is not totally complete but I felt it important to add it here to see the slight change in style in each piece in the series. I have thought about why water and it's movement is so important in my work right now. The only way I can explain it is through my experiences in northern Ontario. Have you ever swam in a quiet, I mean really secluded lake, by yourself? Have you ever just rested there for a moment, head submerged, and listening. That feeling has inspired my new work. It is like your body and the water are one. The silence speaks again and again, if you listen closely, the nature.
